Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) at Henderson are investigating the suspicious death of a man in his 50s whose body was found at the junction of the main road and the road to Gold Ridge on the Guadalcanal Plains on 29February 2020.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Guadalcanal Province, Chief Superintendent Ishmael Vunagi says, “Police received the report and attended the scene with the assistance of RSIPF Forensic officers.”

PPC Vunagi says, “The deceased was from Temotu who resided with his wife at the Guadalcanal Plains Palm Oil Limited (GPPOL) Three.”

“It is a sad incident and I call on communities in the Guadalcanal Plains to provide information to police. This will help investigators to bring whoever is responsible for the suspicious death to face justice.”

“I call on relatives of the deceased man to remain calm and allow the police to investigate the incident and bring whoever is responsible for the death of their relative to justice.”

Chief Superintendent Vunagi says, “On behalf of the RSIPF Executive I would like to share our condolence to immediate family members and other relatives of the deceased during this time of great loss.”
