Nation reassured of governments commitment to fight Covid-191 min read

Prime Minister Hon. Manasseh Sogavare, MP has reassured the nation of its government (DCGA) commitment in the fight against the coronavirus.

“I would like to reassure my good people of Solomon Islands that the Government is taking our approach in keeping our country COVID-19 free, very seriously,” the Prime Minister stated.

“We acknowledge that the risk is real, but so is our collective commitment to keep the virus from reaching our shores. As a responsible Government, we are doing everything possible to work with all stakeholders in keeping our citizens safe.”

“No doubt this is evident in our success so far in maintaining our status as one of the few countries around the world that is yet to record a positive case. This is a feat we must uphold and continue to maintain until this fight is over.”

He stated that despite the status of the country as a COVID-19 free country, “we must not let our guards down. We must continue to listen to sound advice from our respective authorities and remain attentive more than ever.”

“My good people, we are all in this battle together. “Iumi Tugeda Against COVID-19” is our war cry in this fight against COVID-19 pandemic.”

“May God continue to bless and protect our beloved nation Solomon Islands from shore to shore.”
